We are using video-based qualitative research methods in social interaction to investigate interactions between remote participants, which are also simultaneously interactions between human linguistic bodies and mediating communication technology. Here we are looking for what novel participatory patterns may emerge from dynamics specific to these interactional conditions, and how such patterns do or do not afford connection and agency during learning.
